Artist's Description
This is one of 3 paintings I made for an exhibit titled, "Choreography of Cranes." It shows a pair of endangered Whooping Cranes engaged in a courtship dance. I don't think that Whooping Cranes really dance in the moonlight, but it's a nice thought. (The title is obviously a reference to the lyrics of Van Morrison's song, Moondance.) The moon in this painting is made from aluminum foil that I engraved and then painted. Unlike my other 2 crane paintings, this one only has a few dashes of metallic paint.
